BY THE NUMBERS

The Experience Columbia SC Sports team hosted a total of 9 events this past quarter, welcoming almost 63,000 attendees and generating an estimated economic impact of over $11.5 million. A few of these events include the 2019 Palmetto 200 race from Columbia to Charleston that had 2,500 participants and generated an estimated economic impact of more than $202,000, the St. Patrick’s Day Cup youth soccer event that drew in about $728,000 in economic impact for the region and the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, which had a forecasted attendance of 25,000 visitors and estimated economic impact of $9 million.

 

 

ON THE ROAD

This past quarter, Sales Manager Jarrett Dowling traveled to Charleston for the SC Sports Alliance Board Meeting, on which she serves as Marketing Chair. Locally, we hosted the SC Sports Alliance for their annual meeting in February, welcoming 20 industry colleagues from around the state. Additionally, the ECSC Sports team had 26 speaking engagements and interviews around town leading up to the NCAA Tournament.
