THE RESULTS ARE IN

BY THE NUMBERS

The Experience Columbia SC Sports team worked with a total of 10 events this past quarter, welcoming 9,541 attendees and generating an estimated economic impact of more than $700,000. Notable events this past quarter include Columbia Volleyball Club’s 2019 Annual Crown Tournament at Saluda Shoals Park where we hosted a welcome tent at the event, the 2019 Tunnel 2 Towers 5K in September and the 2019 Impact Baseball USC.

ON THE ROAD

This past quarter, Executive Director Scott Powers and Sales Manager Jarrett Dowling attended S.P.O.R.T.S. – The Relationship Conference in Panama City Beach, FL, where they sponsored the Wi-Fi Hotspot Lounge and met with 17 sports events rights holders. The ECSC Sports team also traveled to the NCAA Host Symposium at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, IN, meeting face to face with representatives from each sporting championship, received updates on changes to future bid processes, and co-hosted a breakfast with event owners. Scott and Jarrett were also in attendance at the SC Sports Alliance Annual Meeting in Greenville, SC.

Additionally, Jarrett attended the Leadership Columbia Class of 2020 retreat at Camp Gravatt.
